Second Star to the Right: Jada’s Immersive Peter Pan Narrative Set

When our client Jada requested a custom set inspired by the timeless wonder of Peter Pan, we knew we had to create a journey that spanned from the nurseries of London to the shores of Neverland. This 10-piece narrative collection is a high-definition tribute to childhood imagination, rendered with the microscopic precision of a master illustrator.

The Consultation: Charting a Course to Neverland

Jada’s vision for this set was rooted in the classic 1953 animation, focusing on the breathtaking transition from the real world to the magical one. We selected a Medium Coffin shape to provide an expansive "wide-screen" canvas for the hand-painted scenery, allowing us to capture sprawling landscapes and intimate character moments alike.

The color story is a masterclass in atmospheric shifts: starting with the deep, midnight blues and golden glows of London, then transitioning into the vibrant teals and lush greens of the island where you never grow up.

The Transformation: Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust

To bring Jada’s dream to life, our artists utilized Complex Scenery techniques, building depth through multiple layers of hand-painted detail.

• The London Skyline: We meticulously rendered Big Ben and the London rooftops under a starry sky. Using fine-line metallic pigments, we captured the golden glow of the clock face, marking the moment the journey begins.

• The Flight to Neverland: A standout in the collection is the panoramic view of Peter, Wendy, John, and Michael silhouetted against the "second star to the right." We used a blend of iridescent shimmers and deep gradients to give the sky a celestial, moving quality.

• Neverland Landscapes: From the jagged cliffs of Skull Rock to the shimmering waters of the Mermaid Lagoon, each scene was built with microscopic brushstrokes to mimic the original film’s hand-painted background art.

• The Jolly Roger: We dedicated an accent nail to Captain Hook’s infamous ship, using 3D-textured gold filigree to detail the ornate woodwork and "forged" metallic elements of the vessel.
