To the Stars Who Listen: The City of Starlight Set

Step into Velaris. For this custom 10-piece commission, titled "City of Starlight," we brought the Night Court from Sarah J. Maas’s A Court of Thorns and Roses series to life. This design pairs the snowy, majestic peaks of the Ramiel mountains with celestial starbursts and glittering crystal valley lights.

The Consultation: Night Court Midnight & Celestial Silver

The concept for this set merges the dramatic shadows of the Night Court with the glittering stars above the Rainbow of Velaris. We selected a Long Stiletto shape to emulate the sharp, towering silhouette of mountain peaks.

• The Velvet Midnight Palette: A rich color story featuring matte charcoal black, deep cosmic navy, icy blue highlights, and shimmering gold leaf accents.

• Mountain Valley Tips: The left-hand nails feature French tip placements designed to look like jagged, crystal-encrusted mountain bases glowing in the dark.

The Craft: Fine-Line Oil Painting & Embedded Crystals

Capturing the magical atmosphere of the Night Court required detailed fine-art landscape painting and multi-layered crystal placement.

• The Ramiel Landscape: The two center nails fit together to reveal a hand-painted portrait of the snow-capped Ramiel mountain range rising under a swirling, starlit blue sky. At the base of the peak lies a cluster of real gold leaf flakes, capturing the glowing city of Velaris nestled in the valley.

• Constellations & Celestial Orbs: The right-hand nails feature delicate, hand-painted gold and silver starbursts, constellations, shooting comets, and orbiting planetary rings painted over a velvet-matte black base.

• Crystal & Pearl Baselines: The mountain-tip nails are heavily encrusted with sparkling silver rhinestones, micro-pearls, and iridescent gems, recreating the look of starlight reflecting off frozen snow.

• Matte vs. Glossy Contrast: While the celestial nails are finished in a smooth matte, the mountain landscape center nails are sealed in a high-gloss topcoat to give the blue night sky deep, crystal-clear reflection.
