Illuminated Love: A Renaissance Faire Wedding Spotlight
The vow exchange is approaching, the lute is tuning up, and the meadow is set for a celebration of the ages. When our bride, Caitlin, reached out to us, she wasn't just looking for a wedding manicure—she was looking for a piece of history to wear down the aisle. Getting married at a Renaissance Faire, Caitlin envisioned a design inspired by the timeless beauty of illuminated medieval manuscripts.
The Consultation: Crafting a Modern Manuscript
Caitlin came to us with a clear aesthetic in mind: parchment-toned backgrounds (not too yellow!), intricate decorative borders, and delicate illustrations that told her personal story. She shared several inspiration photos of traditional uncial alphabets, detailed marginalia, and vibrant floral filigree to guide our creative process

The goal was to balance these classic elements with the soft romanticism of her light pink wedding dress. While she provided us with a "bestiary" of ideas, she gave our artists the creative control to weave them together into a cohesive masterpiece.
The Transformation: From Vellum to Velocity
Using Caitlin’s inspiration as our blueprint, we developed a set that feels like it was plucked straight from a royal library. Every nail features the Complex Artistry required to mimic the fine-line work of medieval scribes.
-
The Personal Totems: We ensured her beloved greyhound was the star of the show, hand-painted with its specific markings. To honor her new journey, we added a partridge—a nod to her future last name.
-
The Script: Using the uncial font Caitlin loved, we delicately lettered her and her partner's initials (R/C) and their shared last initial (P) across the accent nails.
-
The Borders: Taking notes from the inspiration photos, we framed several nails with intricate floral borders and "weird medieval guys" for that authentic, whimsical touch.
-
The Palette: We utilized deep reds, royal blues, and genuine gold leafing against a creamy, parchment-matte base to create that aged-to-perfection glow.
A Fairytale Finish
The final result is a set that is as much an heirloom as it is a manicure. As Caitlin prepares to step into her light pink gown and head to the Faire, she carries a tiny, hand-painted story of her own making on every finger.
